Beginning with his days running the Mollet St; club in the mid 70's Park has never stopped playing, promoting or mentoring. He has played in Vapour and the Trails, Louie and the Hotsticks, Big Elvis, The Latter Day Sinners, and Al P and his PAL's. This year saw the release of, Better Already, an album of Parks' songs produced by Delaney Davidson and featuring a bunch of Al's friends singing his songs. Since the earthquake took his music venue, Al's Bar, out, Park has played regularly as a soloist, duo-(Park/Hattaway, Al and Elmore) or with his bands, the Latter day Sinners and Al P and his PAL's.
Michele Poore is returning to the stage after a lengthy hiatus from life as a full-time musician; in which she made regular appearances on stages throughout NZ and Scotland.
A hybrid of soulful folk merging with the occasional rock overtone. Michelle has recorded two albums. The first titled Substance was completed while based in Scotland with many Highland musicians accompanying the tracks. The second “Naturally Raw” was a gentler endeavor recorded after her return to NZ and captures the live experience of a powerful voice backed by accomplished acoustic guitar.
Mother and the Milkmen are a group of local musicians who generally love nothing better than to jam their own unique blend of jazz, punk, funk and grunge at regular late night underground sessions. For the opening of this year’s Live at the Point, however, they are venturing out into the sunshine to deliver a trim version of their set.
