Information

ENTRY

Entry is free to all, no booking required. Grounds open at 12pm every Sunday.

FAMILY & DOG FRIENDLY

Live at the point is a family friendly event. Dogs are welcome. Alcohol will be provided for sale onsite in an area only accessible to those 18+ or accompanied by an adult. Licensing laws will be strictly applied.

BRING CASH

Cash is King – while a small number of our exhibitors do carry EFTPOS, bringing cash will ensure you don’t spend the day in queues! Also we collect koha to help the event remain free to all.

FOOD AND DRINK STALLS

Come for lunch on the field and stay to listen to the free live music. With such a diverse selection of food & drink vendors, the Diamond Harbour Bar & Eatery and non-alcoholic drinks available at Live at the Point, we’ll have everything you need burgers, pizza, local beer, cider, wine, local gin and more!

BE PREPARED FOR THE WEATHER

Don’t forget to pack your own sunscreen, sun hats, and shades – or a poncho if the weather requires. Some natural shade is available around the venue, but as the event is outdoors, we are exposed to the elements throughout. In the unlikely event of bad weather Live at the Point will cancelled.

ARRANGE TRANSPORT

Be a legend and offer to be your group’s designated driver. Make use of the ferry from Lyttelton, and the number 8 bus that leaves from the bus interchange to meet with the ferry. Never drive to or from the event if you’ve consumed alcohol.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE, ARRIVE EARLY

From Christchurch city centre, it's about a 45 minute drive over the Port Hills via Dyers Pass Road. From Lyttelton, it's a 30 minute drive around the bays to Diamond Harbour.

If you don't feel like driving, grab the Diamond Harbour ferry from Lyttelton on a nice sunny day – you might even spot some native Hector's Dolphins playing in the wake! Traffic disruptions are likely immediately before, during and after the sessions. Plan your route carefully and allow extra time when travelling to or near Live at the Point.

PARKING

Don’t drive if you intend to drink alcohol. If you do have a designated driver, car parking is not provided at the festival venue. Please find free on-street parking on nearby Waipapa Avenue, the Domain Car Park, by the Rugby Club and Library. Check out the area on Google maps here.

RESPECT OUR NEIGHBOURS

Live at the Point requests your support in reducing the impact our event has on our neighbours. Please be respectful when entering and leaving the venue and ensure litter is disposed of in the bins provided.
